Through a longitudinal study of religious affiliation, beliefs, and practices in Guadalajara, based on surveys conducted with representative population samples in 1996, 2006, and 2016, we analyze the evolution of Tapatíos' moral stances on sexual morality (pornography, divorce, contraceptives, homosexuality, and abortion). In this area, there is a marked autonomy from the Catholic Church’s doctrine on these practices. However, the transformation is far from homogeneous, showing significant differences across various practices over time and according to sociodemographic factors such as gender and age. These trends will be examined alongside an overview of the transformations in Tapatíos' religiosity over the past two decades.Downloads
